10 tips to live by
Hello and thank you for reading! I would like to share 10 things that you should carry with you on a daily basis. I would like to incorporate entries like this in my blog as well as music entries and other important topics. These “tips” have helped me let go of unneeded anxieties and allowed me to be happier and I hope they do the same for you! (These pieces of advice are a mixture of things I’ve heard and things I’ve learnt.)
#1: THE GOOD COMES WITH THE “BAD”
As humans, we are never going to be happy 100% of the time and THAT IS OKAY. Being happy isn’t the only thing we should be striving for. We have a whole rainbow of emotions and they are all so important to experience. They all have their own lessons and beauty. You will only stress and upset yourself more when you expect everyday and every emotion to be perfect and happy.
#2: FIND THINGS TO BE EXCITED FOR
Upon waking, find at least one thing in your day that you are excited to do. Maybe it’s seeing a friend or reading a book or even that first cup of tea in the morning. This will put you in an uplifting mood for the day.
#3: FIND THINGS TO BE GRATEFUL FOR
Before you go to sleep, reflect on your day and find a few things to be grateful for. This will put you at peace for a good night’s rest while also allowing yourself to really appreciate your day and not let it slip away so quickly.
#4: FIND MANTRAS
Every month or so, find a new mantra that you can repeat to yourself throughout the day. This reaffirms what you need to hear and allows you to be more positive. One I have been enjoying is “I am at home in my body and at peace in my spirit”. -Aarona Lea
#5: DO WHAT YOU LOVE
This one is simple.
Almost anything in excess is unhealthy. For example, going out almost every night will not let you be productive or give you time for reflection and recharging. On the other hand, staying in all the time will leave you feeling unfulfilled. You need both. Help others but know when to say no. Be gentle but know when to be firm. Allow yourself to feel positive and negative emotions. Balance allows you to be whole, accepting your light and your dark. We need duality.
#7: CORRECT NEGATIVE THINKING
Anytime you find yourself thinking negatively about yourself, stop and ask if this thing you are judging makes you a bad or insensitive person. If the answer is no, then correct what you’ve said about yourself with something nice about yourself. If the answer is yes, then change this quality or correct the insensitive thing you said to this person. Then you can appreciate yourself for recognizing your mistake and correcting it.
#8: SPEND TIME IN NATURE
The energy from plants and the clarity achieved by being somewhere untouched by man and media does so much good for your soul.
#9: DRINK MORE TEA
Enjoy a warm cup of tea. They are so healthy, relaxing and comforting, especially around this time of year. Chamomile is great for anxiety and sleep and it boosts your immune system.
This final one is so simple, yet so effective. When you are getting overwhelmed, upset or angry, just pause and take three deep breaths. We are constantly moving or thinking and pausing for a minute to breathe will give you much needed clarity and peace. We should take a few deep breaths before we react so that we can respond reasonably. We should also take a few deep breaths before making a decision or acting out of impulse. Just breathe.
Thank you for reading and I hope these helped! :)
